Parul chaudhary from won 3000m steeplechase race in a athletic sports event meet in New York

The Indian runner Parul Chaudhary, who set a new record for the women’s 3000m steeplechase race earlier this month, finished the race in 9 minutes and 24:29 seconds, earning a spot in the Asian Athletics Championships.

On a Wednesday, which was August 23, an impressive runner named Parul Chaudhary, who is 28 years old, showed her incredible skills in Budapest. She did exceptionally well in a race called the women’s 3000m steeplechase, and her performance allowed her to make it to the final competition. She secured the fifth position in Heat 2 and completed the race in her fastest time ever: 9 minutes and 24.29 seconds. This fantastic achievement earned her a spot in the final race.

Avinash Sable in Steeplechase

While another runner named Avinash Sable, who is well-known for his participation in the Commonwealth Games, didn’t perform as strongly in the men’s 5000m steeplechase, Parul Chaudhary’s remarkable performance on the same day brought a sense of joy and celebration to the country.

This particular day was also significant because people were celebrating the successful landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the Moon.

Parul surpassed her previous personal record time of 9 minutes and 29.51 seconds. She had set this record when she achieved a podium finish at the Los Angeles Grand Prix in May.

The final

The final round for the women’s 3000m steeplechase is scheduled for August 27, which is the concluding day of the world championship held in Budapest. It’s worth highlighting that during the World Athletics Championships of the previous year, Parul managed to secure the 31st place in the 3000m steeplechase event with a time of 9 minutes and 38.90 seconds. This time was her personal best at that point.

Asian Athletics Championships

Before participating in the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest, Parul Chaudhary achieved a significant feat by winning a gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championships that took place in Bangkok in July. During that race, she covered the distance in a time of 9 minutes and 38.76 seconds.

In spite of the challenging weather conditions on a humid evening in Budapest, Parul Chaudhary exhibited exceptional determination in Heat 2 of the Women’s Steeplechase final. She stayed with the leading group and managed to achieve something truly noteworthy.

By doing so, she became the first Indian athlete since Lalita Babar to qualify for the final of the World Championships. It’s important to note that back in the 2015 World Athletics Championships, Lalita had finished in the 8th position during the final race.

Jeswin Aldrin

Furthermore, Parul Chaudhary added yet another remarkable accomplishment to her list. She became only the second Indian, following Jeswin Aldrin, to reach the final rounds of the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest this year. Jeswin Aldrin secured a place in the men’s long jump final with his outstanding effort that covered a distance of 8 meters.

These achievements in the field of athletics demonstrate the dedication and hard work that athletes like Parul Chaudhary put into their training and competitions. They not only inspire their fellow Indians but also serve as examples of what can be accomplished with determination and perseverance on the global stage of sports.

Lila Das

Lili Das took part in the important women’s 1500m race at the NYC athletics meet. She completed the race in her best time of the season, which was 4 minutes and 15.23 seconds, and secured the third position. The winner of the event was Alexina Teubel from the USA, who finished in 4 minutes and 7.68 seconds.

Ajay Kumar Saroj

During the men’s 1500m race, Ajay Kumar Saroj completed the run and his time was 3 minutes and 41.28 seconds, placing him in the eighth position. On the other hand, Shankar Lal Swami did not manage to finish the men’s 3000m steeplechase race.
