OCTOBER SCORES MADE BY INDIA in 19th ASIAN GAMES:

October 1st:

  • Aditi won silver in golf at the 19th Asian Games. After having a 7-shot lead going into the last round, an underwhelming performance saw Aditi manage a +5 and Arpichaya Yubol of Thailand leapfrogged her into the gold medal spot.
  • Another gold for the trap men’s team of Prithviraj Ttondaiman, Kynan Chenai and Zoravar Singh Sandhu smashed the Games record with a score of 361
  • On the other hand, the women’s trap team of Manisha Keer, Preeti Rajak and Rajeshwari Kumari won silver with a score of 337.
  • Shooting – Bronze medal for Kynan Chenai in men’s Trap individual final with 32 out of 40 shots. Zoravar Singh Sandhu finishes 5th with 23 shots out of 30 shots.
  • Women’s Hockey – India and South Korea make a 1-1 draw. Navdeep Kaur scored for India.
  • Nikhat Zareen lost to Thailand’s Chuthamat Raksat by a 3:2 split decision in the semifinal. Bronze medal for her
  • Avinash Sable won the gold medal in the men’s 3000m steeplechase with a timing of 8:19:54 beating the Japanese
  • Defending champion Tajinderpal Singh Toor retains in the men’s shot put with his final attempt, a massive 20.36m. It’s a GOLD
  • Harmilan Bains takes silver in the women’s 1500m event in the 19th Asian Games
  • Ajay Kumar Saroj bags silver in the men’s 1500m while defending champion Jinson Johnson has to settle for a bronze
  • Sreeshankarr Murali superstar registered a best attempt of 8.19m to finish second – SILVER medal
  • Seema Punia clinches her 3rd Asian Games medal – She threw a huge 58.62m in her 4th attempt in the women’s Discus Throw final to register a season-best and take bronze
  • Nandini Agasara snatches the bronze medal after a brilliant run in the 800m. Heartbreak for defending champion Swapna Barman, who finished 4th
  • Jyothi Yarraji – Bronze medal in women’s 100m hurdles. Common sense prevails and Yanni Wu is disqualified after further checks. Jyothi takes the second spot only behind China’s Yuwei Lin
  • India settled for silver in the Badminton men’s team. An early 2-0 lead given by Lakshya Sen and Satwik/Chirag is overturned by losses for Srikanth, Dhruv/Sai and Mithun. Silver medal

October 2nd:

  • Bronze in speed skating – The women’s team of Sanjana Athula, Karthika Jagadeeswaran, Heeral Saadhu and Aarathy Raj Kasturi in women’s 3000m speed skating relay race sees them bag bronze with a timing of 4:34:861.
  • It’s the men’s turn to bag bronze now – Third place finish for the men’s team of Aryanpal Singh Ghuman, Anandkumar Velkumar, Siddhant Rahul Kamble and Vikram Rajendra Ingale with a timing of 4:10:128 in the men’s 3000m speed skating relay race.
  • Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee won bronze at the Asian games, after a sensational win against Chinese world champions in the quarterfinal, the Indians fought tooth and nail before going down to a North Korean pair in an epic and thrilling 7-setter.
  • Chinese Taipei pose a strong challenge for Indian women as they rally from behind to tie the opening group A kabaddi match – 34-34
  • India seals its semifinal spot with a 12-0 thrashing of Bangladesh in !9th Asian Games
  • Parul Chaudhary – silver for her in women’s 3000m steeplechase with 9:27:63. Preeti Lamba takes bronze with 9:43:32.
  • Ancy Sojan Edappally – 22 y/o AncySojan rises to the big occasion and bags silver with a best attempt of 6.63m. Shaili Singh finishes 5th with 6.48m
  • Athletics – mixed 4×400 – Relay team of Muhammed Ajmal, Vithya Ramraj and Rajesh Ramesh Subha Venkatesan won silver with a timing of 3:14:34

October 3rd:

  • Kabaddi – Indian men kickstart their campaign with a dominating display over Bangladesh. Won by 55:18
  • Canoe Sprint – Men’s Canoe Double 1000m team of Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam won bronze with a timing of 3:53:329
  • Hockey – Women’s team won against Hong Kong by 13-0
  • Men’s cricket – Yashasvi Jaiswal becomes the youngest Indian Batter to score a T20I century as India starts with a bang in men’s cricket
  • Boxing – Women’s 54kg Preeti Pawar lost in the semi-final against a Chinese opponent with a scoreline of 0-5
  • Athletics – Women’s 400m hurdle Vithya Ramraj won bronze in the timing of 55.68
  • Parul chaudhary won gold in the 5000m
  • Mohammed Afsal won silver in men’s 800m and was overtaken by Saudi Arabian
  • Praveen Chithravel got bronze in the men’s triple jump with the best attempt of 16.69m, and Abdulla Aboobacker finished 4th with 16.62
  • Tejaswin Shankar won silver in men’s decathlon with 7666 points
  • Annu Rani snatched gold in the women’s Javelin Throw
  • Narender Berwal got Bronze in men’s boxing 92+ kg as he went down 0-5 in the semifinal against Kazakhstan Boxer Kamshybek Kunkabayev
  • Ram Baboo & Manju Rani won a bronze medal for India in a 35 km race walk mixed team with 5:51:14
  • Jyothi Surekha & Ojas Pravin won historic gold in Archery. The Compound Mixed team defeated Koreans So Chaewon and Joo Jaehoon by 159-158 for the perfect top-of-the-podium finish
  • Anahat & Abhay go down fighting, the young Indian pair lost a nerve-wracking encounter with the Malaysians in the squash mixed doubles semifinals. Bronze for them.
  • Parveen Hooda claims Bronze, The Indian pugilist was outplayed in her semi-final against Lin of Chinese Taipei and lost by unanimous decision. Bronze

October 4th:

  • Bronze in athletics – 35 km race walk mixed team for Ram Baboo and Manju Rani with 5:51:14 – Bronze
  • Archery – The Compound mixed team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Pravin Deotale defeated Koreans So Chaewon and Joo Jaehoon by 159 – 158 for the perfect top-of-the-podium finish – GOLD
  • Squash – Anahat and Abhay the young Indian pair lost a nerve-wracking encounter to the Malaysians mixed double semifinals – Bronze
  • Parveen Hooda claimed bronze in the boxing semi-final against Lin of Chinese Taipei and lost by a unanimous decision
  • Lovlina Borgohain bags her first Asian medal – Silver
  • Men’s Hockey wins by 5-3 against Koreans
  • Sunil Kumar wins Bronze in Wrestling after beating Kyrgyzstan’s Abtabek Azisbekov in the men’s GR 87kg
  • Harmilan Bains bags her second medal SILVER after 1500m with a timing of 2:03:75.
  • Avinash Sable backs up his steeplechase gold with a 5000m Silver
  • Indian4x400 women’s relay team wins silver – Vithya Ramraj, Subha Venkatesan, Prachi and Aishwarya Mishra
  • Neeraj Chopra’s best throw of 88:88 meters to clinch gold. Once again in the Asian Games
  • Kishore Kumar Jena’s latest sensation – threw javelin 87.54m, a personal best.
  • India converts silver from Jakarta into Gold in Hangzhou – Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Ajmal, Rajesh Ramesh. Finished 4×400 with a timing of 3:01:58

October 5th:

  • Archery – The compound women’s team of Aditi Swami, Jyothi Surekha and Parneet Kaur accounted for a 230-229 win over Chinese Taipei to stamp their dominance at the Asian Games – GOLD
  • Squash – Mixed doubles, the pair of Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu defeated the Malaysian duo 11-10 11-10 to clinch gold.
  • Archery – After the women’s team won gold earlier today, the men’s team of Abhishek Verma, Ojas Deotale and Prathmesh Jawkar took Gold after a 235-230 victory over South Korea
  • Women’s hockey – India pays a heavy price for failing to convert as many as 6 penalty corners as they go down to China in the Hockey Women’s semifinal
  • Squash – Greatest player in men’s squash, 37-year-old superstar Saurav Ghosal fails to win the singles gold once again at the Asian Games. His tally in singles is now at 2 silver and 3 bronze medals across 5 editions
  • Women’s wrestling – Antim Panghal impresses again. The teenager won bronze in her debut, she defeated Mongolia’s Olympic medalist in the bronze medal match

October 6th:

  • Kabaddi – women’s team are into the final after a 61-17 thrashing of Nepal in the semifinals.
  • Archery – The Indian women’s recurve team of Ankita Bhakat, Bhajan Kaur and Simranjeet Kaur won 6-2 against Vietnam in the bronze medal match
  • India made light work of Bangladesh as they restricted them to 96 in the men’s semifinal before achieving the target in just 9.2 overs.
  • HS Prannoy ends historic Asian Games campaign with a bronze going down against Li Shi Feng 21-16, 21-9.
  • The women’s regu team registered India’s second-ever bronze in the history of the Asian Games after going down in the semifinal to Thailand
  • Men’s kabaddi – Another victory, the Indian team moves into the summit clash convincing win by 61-14
  • Archery – The Indian men’s recurve team of Atanu Das, Tushar Shelke and Dhiraj Bommadevara bag the silver after going down 1-5 to South Korea in the final – Silver
  • Wrestling – Women’s freestyle 62kg Sonam Malik won Bronze. 21 y/o beats China’s Jia Long
  • Wrestling – Kiran Bishnoi comes off as the victor in the women’s 76kg bronze-medal bout over Mongolia’s Ariunjargal Ganbat
  • Bridge men’s team bags India’s first Asian Games silver in the sport. They lost in the final to Hong Kong China by 238.1-152.
  • Wrestling- men’s freestyle 57kg. Aman Sehrawat bags bronze in the men’s 57kg after beating a hapless Liu Minghu of China 11-0
  • Men’s hockey – India clinch gold for the first time since 2014 Incheon as Harmanpreet Singh and co. rout Japan 5-1 in the final. Also Paris 2024 qualification.
  • The first time any Indian doubles pair has reached the final. Satwik & Chirag beat Chia/Soh 21-17, 21-12 to seal a place in the men’s doubles final

October 7th:

  • Archery – Adit Gopichand Swami won Bronze in Compound women’s individual
  • Archery – Jyothi Surekha Vennam won Gold in compound women’s individual
  • Archery – Ojas Pravin Deotale won gold in compound men’s individual
  • Archery – Abhishek Verma won silver in compound men’s individual
  • Kabbadi -The Indian women’s team won gold against Chinese Taipei
  • Badminton – History has been scripted in Hangzhou as Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy become the first-ever badminton players from India to win gold
  • Men’s cricket – Indian team won against Afghanistan – GOLD
  • India beat Iran to take Kabaddi men’s gold
  • Hockey – Indian Women’s team defeats defending champion Japan by 2-1 to take bronze
  • Wrestling – Men’s freestyle 86kg Deepak Punia won silver
  • Chess – Indian women’s team clinch silver
  • Chess – The Indian men’s team won silver
