Indian badminton player Prannoy hs won his first-ever medal at the BWF World Championships, a big competition for badminton.
Prannoy hs said he didn’t expect to win this year because the tournament was really challenging. He got a bronze medal after reaching the semifinals, where he lost to a player from Thailand. This was his first time on the podium at this event. India has had a medallist in this event every year since 2011.
Prannoy hs was very happy about winning the medal and said he didn’t think it would happen this year because he had to play against tough opponents right from the beginning. He was surprised and pleased to stand on the podium.
Top-ranked player
In an earlier match, Prannoy hs played against the top-ranked player Viktor Axelsen. He lost the first game but then made a strong comeback to win the next two games and the match. Prannoy mentioned that playing against Viktor in Copenhagen, with a big crowd cheering, was a special experience. He felt focused and shut out distractions that day. Winning that match was important because it eventually led him to win a medal.
